Some 70% of American Jews voted for Barack Obama in the last elections. Now, we find out we voted for Hitler? This is something I can’t quite digest, this pro-Israeli Obama-bashing. How did the conservatives hijack Zionism?
“The dhimmi in the White House” has increasingly become a sort of anti-Obama rallying cry. The scope is not to discuss or criticize Obama’s ideas on Israel (entirely debatable,as ever) but to dirty him with the dhimmi brush. He has been tarred and feathered as an enemy of Israel and the Jewish people and a lackey of Islamic rejectionism. As my blogger friend Jew With a View posted recently (quoting Joseph Farah):
I hope my Jewish friends remember this well. Many of them voted for Barack Obama. Many of them voted for Hillary Clinton. These are not your friends. These are the same kinds of people who turned away ships of Jewish refugees from Germany in the 1940s. These are the same kinds of people who appeased Adolf Hitler at Munich. These are the same kinds of people who made the reformation of the modern state of Israel so difficult.
We have gone from understandable criticism of Obama-administration pressure on Israel to stop existing settlement growth to a mischaracterization of Obama as–what? Hitler? Ahmadinejad? Appeasement incarnate, apparently. Farah goes so far as to call this “ethnic cleansing”, perhaps borrowing his human-rights jargon from the anti-Zionist hard left. My baloney detector is going haywire.
Is Barack Obama a cosmically-charged enemy of the Jewish people? Was he sent by God (or the Adversary) to beguile and destroy Jewish continuity in the guise of the president of the USA? Is he, as we are expected to believe, completely subservient to the Islamist lobby? Is he ransoming the State of Israel to appease the likes of Osama bin Laden and the Iranian regime? Does any of this sound familiar?? It sounds like the Mearsheimer-Walt thesis turned on its head. If only everything in politics were so black and white.
I’m all for crticism where it is due, and Obama is no exception. I used to feel disgusted at the hatred against Dubya, though I’ve never felt close to the Republican party or kinship with American conservative causes. I even stood up to fellow liberals when they crossed the line from criticism to hate speech. And there was a lot of that back then. Now it’s back–with a vengeance.
Can’t we say shoyn genug* to conspiracy theories once and for all?
* “enough already!”
I should note that those were not my words, I was citing from an article.
Here’s the issue:
1 – Obama is pushing Israel to make ‘concessions’ that will be suicidal for the Jewish state.
2 – Obama is supporting the creation of a Palestinian Arab state that will not allow ANY JEWS to step foot in it, let alone live in it. Yet in Israel, as you know, Palestinian Arabs live as citizens, they have the same – indeed sometimes more! – rights than other Israelis.
How can it possibly be fair to drag Israelis from their homes, in order to create a Palestinian Arab state that will be ‘judenrein’ – or ‘jew free’?
It is because of this that some commentators are just now starting to compare Obama to Hitler etc.
Please also note: Obama has insisted he will not ‘meddle’ in the affairs of other nations – up to and including the fact that he STILL wants unconditional talks with Iran even AFTER Iran HUNG protesters this week!
Yet Obama is more than happy to interfere in Israeli affairs – are you aware that the Obama administration has stated it is ‘closely monitoring’ HOW MANY CHILDREN Israeli Jewish parents are having in Judea and Samaria?
Can you *possibly* imagine Obama placing the same pressures on Palestinian Arabs or indeed any Muslim nation? Jordan bans Jews, so do many other Muslim and Arab states. Where is Obama’s outrage over that?
But no. Obama is ONLY demanding things of the Israelis.
Does that really seem fair to you…?
Again, just to clarify: I have not ‘borrowed’ anything from the anti zionist lobby. I have not used the term ‘ethnic cleansing’ – though yes, I have posted articles that by other commentators who *do*.
If telling only Israeli Jewish parents that they cannot have any more children is not discriminatory, what is, in your view…?
Many people are also turning against Obama following his craven appeasement – yes, it was appeasement – towards Islam in Cairo. For him to stand there and declare that Islam respects other faiths is absurd. You only have to look at how Christians, Jews, and indeed all non Muslims are treated IN Islamic countries!
Obama betrayed the numerous women, gays and ‘infidels’ who are even now suffering in Islamic nations. So it’s no wonder that people are now starting to question his allegiances.
I forgot to note: the piece of writing you attribute to me was actually by Joseph Farah, the Arab American journalist; I make this clear in the original post on my blog.
I think people’s concerns re Obama are perhaps best summed up thus:
“Something must be wrong with a man who is far more concerned with a Jew building a house in Israel than with Muslims building a nuclear bomb in Iran“ — Bert Perlutsky.
Blog wars! 🙂
I’ve posted something which addresses some of your points. It wasn’t written specifically in response to your post, though.

With regard to the often cited number of Jews who voted for Obama – is it accurate…?
Sultan Knish thinks not:
http://sultanknish.blogspot.com/2008/11/who-did-jews-really-vote-for-in-2008.html
JWAV,
Sultan quotes a 78% figure, I used a rougher 70%ish instead. Either way, I doubt the numbers were much, much lower (say 20% or even 40%). He may dislike Obama, but America is not Iran.
Besides, weren’t the Republicans accused of having stolen Florida in 2000, thus winning the election?
I find Farah’s addiction to the Obama “citizenship conspiracy theory” unsettling. Even Michelle Malkin thinks these people are embarrassing, apparently.
Apologies for having attributed Farah’s words to you!
No worries 🙂
I’m not American so honestly couldn’t say what most American Jews did by way of voting. One thing is for sure: I hope those who did support Obama won’t be voting for him next time round…! 🙂
I live in NYC. The “Bolshevik Jewish” people def. pulled for Obanzai.
Many Jewish people did. Its just a fact, BUT, remember Gideons Army?? 300 WARRIORS, so lets be the Gideon 300’s.
I stood up to the excrement on Youtube, and advised them to REPENT: Rabbis4Obama, Jews4Obama, the list is ENDLESS of the sheep that voted in the Marxist, Fascist, Muslim Usurper in Chief..but remember, we dont make up a whole heckuva lot of the populace, and those that did NOT vote for the pig, NEED to get blogs and head almost far right, with a little balance.
As much as people dont want to admit it, MADOFF got rid of the JINOs; ACLU, and MANY, believe you me.
Marc, I FEEL THE PAIN!!
It will be terrible when these ‘conspiracy wackos’ turn out to be 100% correct.
