W.S. DiPiero did a translation through Ohio State of selected Penna published in 1982; it’s probably out there in the online somewhere. He’s a nice guy. You should make contact.
I have a friend who has been translating Penna for years; that’s his rejection letter from Poetry. He’s kind of scandalously under-published in English, like most Italian poets. Hence, the fawning review of Galassi’s Leopardi in the NYT.
